Get Your Bard On! “Outspoken: Shakespeare In Shackles” Opens Next Weekend!

Tickets are now on sale for our latest production – Blaire Baron Larsen’s OUTSPOKEN: Shakespeare In Shackles.  Studio C Artists is pleased to present this fascinating new show in association with the Los Angeles Drama Club.

What happens when you take some of Shakespeare’s most gregarious characters – and put them all in the same prison together – fighting for their lives?

OUTSPOKEN has – with the notorious London prison, The Clink, as the backdrop of its world – brought in a variety of Shakespeare characters from the Canon (crossing the time/space continuum) to explore themes of classism and oppression – while using humor, compassion and camaraderie. Each character grows to understand their fellow prisoners as they re-enact the defining moment (in the actual Shakespeare play) that put them here – usually because they were too… outspoken.
